The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for the Konkan region of Maharashtra on 25th and 26th February. The affected areas include Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts. IMD scientist Sushma Nair mentioned that the temperature could range between 37 to 38 degrees Celsius over the next two days, which is approximately 5 degrees Celsius higher than the normal temperature for February.
