The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing have vouched for the safety of the Dreamliner fuel switches following the Air India plane crash. This comes after a preliminary report suggested that a fuel switch cut three seconds after takeoff led to engine failure. The FAA’s airworthiness notification states the switch design does not pose unsafe conditions. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is investigating potential technical glitches, unintentional pilot actions, and other equipment failures. The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is assisting the investigation, involving experts from GE, Boeing, and the FAA.
