On July 21, 2025, Air India Flight AI-2744, an A320 (VT-TYA), skidded off Runway 27 at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after landing from Kochi amid heavy rain. The aircraft veered 16-17 meters off the runway, entering an unpaved area before reaching the taxiway, damaging the main runway (09/27). Operations shifted to the secondary runway (14/32).
