Heavy rains lashed Delhi-NCR overnight, causing waterlogging and massive traffic jams on 31st July. IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in Delhi, Haryana, and parts of North India. Madhya Pradesh is facing flood-like situations in Guna, Shivpuri, and Damoh with rescue operations underway. In Rajasthan, several districts including Jaipur, Kota, Dausa, Alwar, and Bharatpur are struggling with severe rain. Road connectivity between Rajasthan and MP has been cut off due to overflowing rivers.
In Uttarakhand, the Kedarnath Yatra has been halted after landslides washed away 70 meters of road near Sonprayag. 3000 pilgrims are stranded. Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba saw a cloudburst, while in Jammu & Kashmir, 4 people died due to heavy rain and landslides. Amarnath Yatra has also been affected.
