At least four people have died and over 50 are missing after a powerful cloudburst triggered a massive flash flood in Uttarkashi’s Dharali village, around 4 km from the Indian Army camp at Harsil, at approximately 1:45 pm on 05 Aug, cutting off all road connectivity to the sacred Gangotri Dham. The disaster unleashed a torrent of water and debris, overwhelming the region and prompting an emergency multi-agency response.
