A shocking theft at Delhi’s iconic Red Fort has stunned everyone! During the holy Jain festival Daslakshan Mahaparv, a man disguised in traditional attire allegedly stole two golden ‘kalash’ (urns), a gold coconut, and other valuables worth nearly Rs 1.5 crore.
Police identified the accused as Bhushan Verma, who was caught on CCTV calmly blending in with devotees before making off with the priceless ritual items. The gold urns, decorated with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies, were not just ornaments but held deep spiritual value for the Jain community.
The ornate items belonged to businessman Sudhir Jain, who had brought them daily for rituals. While the police have now arrested Verma from Hapur, many questions remain on how such a daring theft was carried out inside the Red Fort premises amidst tight security.
