The Congress Working Committee (CWC) held a meeting in Bihar for the first time in eighty-five years, setting the stage for the upcoming assembly elections. During the meeting on Wednesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Khadge stated, “the BJP has mentally retired chief minister Nitish Kumar and considers him to be a liability.” The focus of the extended CWC meeting included SIR irregularities and the independence of the Election Commission. In response, the NDA suggested the meeting was a Congress tactic to secure more seats within the Mahagatbandhan alliance. Meanwhile, the BJP is also conducting meetings with its district-level leaders to finalize a list of potential candidates for the assembly election, as both sides prepare for the electoral contest in Bihar.
