उत्तर प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड, हिमाचल प्रदेश, मध्य प्रदेश और गुजरात में ‘लव जिहाद’ और अवैध धर्मांतरण रोकने वाले कानूनों के खिलाफ दायर याचिकाओं पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट आज सुनवाई करेगा। इन याचिकाओं में जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद और सिटीज़न फॉर जस्टिस एंड पीस जैसे संगठन शामिल हैं। याचिकाकर्ताओं का कहना है कि ये कानून अंतरधार्मिक जोड़ों को परेशान करने का जरिया बन गए हैं और निर्दोषों को धर्मांतरण के झूठे आरोपों में फंसाया जा सकता है।
The Supreme Court will hear today a batch of petitions filed against laws prohibiting “love jihad” and illegal religious conversions in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. The petitioners, including those filed by organizations like Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and Citizens for Justice and Peace, argue that these laws have become a tool for harassing interfaith couples and that innocent people can be framed on false charges of conversion.
