In a dramatic turn of events, former Uttar Pradesh IPS officer Amitabh Thakur was arrested by Lucknow Police, while traveling from Delhi to Lucknow. This arrest revives a long-buried 1999 case where Thakur, then SP of Deoria, allegedly misused his official position to fraudulently secure an industrial plot (B2) from the Deoria Industrial Centre.
