Tension has escalated in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan, as local farmers and villagers intensify their protest against a 450-crore ethanol plant being built in Rathi Kheda / Tibbi. Opponents fear the facility could harm groundwater, soil, air quality, and agriculture — threatening their livelihoods and the environment. Farmers, backed by regional political leaders, marched toward the construction site after a mahapanchayat and clashed with police. In the ensuing unrest, boundary walls were demolished, vehicles and police property were set on fire, and several people — including police personnel and legislators — were injured.
