A collision between two local trains inside the Vishnugarh-Pippalkoti hydroelectric project tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district has left over 60 people injured. The incident occurred when a train carrying workers collided with a goods train approximately 2.5 kilometers inside the tunnel. According to reports, 109 people were on board at the time of the accident, which took place during a shift change. The injured were rushed to Gopeshwar Hospital and a local facility for treatment; authorities confirmed their condition is stable. The administration has launched an investigation into the systemic failures behind the crash.
