Her body was recovered from the apartment of her ex-boyfriend, Arjun Sharma, who had earlier filed a missing-person report claiming he last saw her on December 31. Investigations revealed that Sharma left for India the same day he reported her missing, and police believe the murder happened shortly after 7 pm on New Year’s Eve. Federal agencies are helping locate Sharma, while the Indian Embassy is supporting Nikitha’s family. Nikitha was a healthcare professional with strong academic credentials, and the case has raised serious safety concerns.
