पश्चिम बंगाल के मुर्शिदाबाद जिले का बेलडांगा शुक्रवार को हिंसक प्रदर्शनों की आग में सुलग उठा। झारखंड में काम करने गए एक प्रवासी मजदूर की संदिग्ध परिस्थितियों में हुई मौत की खबर ने स्थानीय लोगों के गुस्से को भड़का दिया। आक्रोशित भीड़ ने रेलवे ट्रैक और नेशनल हाईवे-12 (NH-12) को पूरी तरह से जाम कर दिया, जिससे हजारों यात्री बीच रास्ते में फंस गए और वाहनों की कतारें लग गईं।
पुलिस के मुताबिक, यह विरोध प्रदर्शन करीब 5 घंटे तक चला, जिसने उत्तर और दक्षिण बंगाल के बीच संपर्क को बुरी तरह प्रभावित किया।
Beldaanga in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district erupted in violent protests on Friday. The news of the death of a migrant worker from the area, who had gone to work in Jharkhand, under suspicious circumstances, fueled the anger of the local residents. An enraged mob completely blocked the railway tracks and National Highway-12 (NH-12), stranding thousands of passengers and causing massive traffic jams.
According to the police, the protest lasted for about five hours, severely disrupting connectivity between North and South Bengal.
