दिल्ली को एक बार फिर दंगों की आग में झोकने की कोशिश हुई. आधी रात को दिल्ली के तुर्कमान गेट इलाके में मस्जिद पर बुलडोजर चलने की अफवाह फैलाई गई. मुसलमानों से घऱ से निकल सड़क पर आने की अपील की गई. 23 मिनट के भीतर सैकड़ों की भीड़ जुट गई. कुछ ही मिनटों में पुलिस पर पत्थर चलने लगे. पांच पुलिस वाले बुरी तरह जख्मी हुए. पुलिस ने बड़ी मुश्किल से हालात को काबू में किया. अब इस हिंसा के मामले में पांच पत्थरबाजों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है. बाकी की तलाश जारी है. पुलिस वीडियो फुटेज की मदद से दंगा करने वालों की पहचान करने की कोशिश कर रही है.

Muslims were urged to leave their homes and take to the streets. Within 23 minutes, hundreds of people had gathered. Within minutes, stones were being thrown at the police. Five police officers were seriously injured. The police managed to bring the situation under control with great difficulty. Five stone-pelters have now been arrested in connection with this violence, and the search for others is ongoing. Police are trying to identify the rioters with the help of video footage.
