Union Minister Piyush Goyal, while commenting on the India-US trade deal, criticized the opposition, saying that “some people don’t care about the farmers.” He added that some people are acting against the interests of the country’s farmers. He asserted that the deal protects the interests of farmers and the dairy sector. He accused some of trying to mislead the country about the deal. He also stated that there will be a 0% tariff on gems and diamonds, pharmaceuticals, and Made-in-India smartphones, and that the deal safeguards the interests of farmers and the dairy industry.
