The family of a groom in Punjab has denied claims that they showered the bride with Rs 8.5 crore in cash during their wedding celebration on February 14.
A video from the ceremony in Tarn Taran, which has gone viral, shows the bride standing at the venue as currency notes are showered on her – a customary gesture at many Punjabi weddings. Guests are also seen dancing to music as the floor is covered with notes, with several others tossing cash into the air.
