Air India has brought back 149 Indians from Dubai, marking the first Indian carrier flight to evacuate stranded passengers amid escalating Middle East tensions. Flight AI 916 landed in Delhi at 10:58 am, carrying passengers who had been stranded for several days. Air India also operated another flight carrying 143 crew members from Dubai. The evacuation comes as the Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister, focuses on ensuring the safety of Indians in the region. Approximately 95 lakh Indians are estimated to be in the Middle East, including workers and professionals in various roles. Passengers arriving in Delhi expressed relief at returning home safely, particularly during the festive season, despite feeling relatively safe in Dubai during the crisis.
