Iran has fired its Sejjil ballistic missile, marking a major escalation in the ongoing conflict with Israel. According to estimates, Iran has fired over 700 missiles and launched more than 3,600 drones since the conflict began. The Sejjil is a solid-fuel ballistic missile with a range between 2,000 to 2,400 kilometres, capable of carrying a 750-kilogram warhead and travelling at hypersonic speeds of close to 30 Mach. Iran retains several advanced missile systems in its arsenal that have not been deployed, including the Hajj Qasim hypersonic missile and the Fatah-2, which can travel at 15 Mach with a range of approximately 1,500 kilometres. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps insists many missiles used so far were manufactured a decade ago, while more advanced stockpiles remain in reserve. Iran also operates multiple mobile launch systems including truck-mounted transporter erector launchers, which are harder to detect and destroy.
