A major security breach occurred at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday after an unidentified driver in a white Tata Sierra forcibly entered the premises. The vehicle reportedly rammed through Gate Number 2, a VIP entrance near the Delhi Vidhan Sabha metro station, around 2:05 PM. Once inside, the driver proceeded towards the office of the Assembly Speaker, Vijender Gupta, and placed a bouquet of flowers before fleeing the scene. Although the Assembly was not in session, Speaker Vijender Gupta was present for a meeting with Education Department officials at the time. Delhi Police, including senior officials from the Special Cell, have seized the vehicle and are scanning CCTV footage to identify the suspect. A bomb squad and sniffer dogs inspected the bouquet and the premises, confirming no suspicious items were found. This incident follows previous security concerns, including bomb threats received during the recent budget session, raising serious questions about the adequacy of the security cordon at the high-profile complex.
