रूस और ईरान से तेल को लेकर भारत के लिए बड़ी टेंशन खड़ी हो गई है—क्योंकि अमेरिका ने वो खास “waiver” खत्म कर दिया है, जिसके चलते भारत इन देशों से तेल खरीद पा रहा था; अब जैसे ही ये छूट खत्म हुई, रूस और ईरान के तेल पर फिर से सख्त अमेरिकी प्रतिबंध लागू हो गए हैं, जिससे भारत के लिए सीधे तौर पर खरीदारी मुश्किल हो सकती है ; असल में ये waiver सिर्फ अस्थायी था, ताकि युद्ध के दौरान global oil supply बनी रहे, लेकिन अब अमेरिका “maximum pressure” की रणनीति पर लौट आया है ; इसका मतलब ये नहीं कि भारत बिल्कुल तेल नहीं खरीद पाएगा, लेकिन अब हर डील ज्यादा जटिल, महंगी और जोखिम भरी हो सकती है—क्योंकि भारत अब तक सस्ते रूसी तेल पर काफी निर्भर रहा है; ऐसे में आगे भारत को या तो नए सप्लायर ढूंढने पड़ेंगे, या फिर कूटनीतिक रास्ते निकालने होंगे—क्योंकि इस फैसले का सीधा असर तेल की कीमतों और आम लोगों की जेब पर पड़ सकता है।
India has faced significant tensions regarding oil from Russia and Iran—the US has revoked a special waiver that allowed India to purchase oil from these countries. Now, as soon as this waiver ends, strict US sanctions have been reimposed on Russian and Iranian oil, making direct purchases difficult for India. This waiver was originally intended to be temporary, ensuring the preservation of global oil supplies during the war, but now the US has returned to a strategy of “maximum pressure.” This doesn’t mean India won’t be able to purchase oil at all, but every deal will now be more complex, expensive, and risky—since India has so far relied heavily on cheap Russian oil. Consequently, India will either have to find new suppliers or resort to diplomatic means—as this decision could directly impact oil prices and the common man’s pockets.
