Political developments are unfolding in Tamil Nadu as a rebel faction of thirty AIADMK legislators has announced unilateral support for the TVK and the newly elected Chief Minister ahead of a floor test. The rebel camp clarified that their support is directed towards the Chief Minister rather than the TVK itself. The TVK, which currently holds one hundred and twenty seats in the assembly, has not officially accepted this support. Furthermore, the rebel leadership confirmed they rejected a proposal from the DMK to form a coalition government with AIADMK support, citing ideological differences and founding principles. The faction also clarified that they are currently not in any political alliance, including with the BJP. Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister has stated an intention to observe the new government’s progress for six months before taking any political action, ensuring temporary stability for the current administration.
