The National Testing Agency has officially cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3 after massive protests over alleged paper leaks.
The Government of India has handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a full investigation.
According to reports, the alleged leak may have originated in Jaipur, while Sikar district is suspected to be the main circulation hub. A “guess paper” reportedly containing questions worth 600 out of 720 marks, including the full chemistry section, was allegedly shared among students before the exam.
The controversy has sparked nationwide debate over exam transparency, student stress, and the credibility of national entrance exams. NTA has said that fresh dates for the re-conducted examination will be announced later.
