US President Donald Trump has called Iran’s response to a peace proposal sent by Washington “totally unacceptable.” On Sunday, Iran released its reply, which focused on ending the war on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon. However, Tehran has now warned that it will retaliate against any new US strikes or the presence of foreign warships in the Strait of Hormuz. As concerns grow that the conflict could continue, global oil prices have risen following Trump’s rejection of Iran’s response.
Meanwhile, Two people have tested positive for hantavirus after being evacuated from a luxury cruise ship hit by a deadly outbreak. Also, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi is expected to visit India this week to attend the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, amid heightened tensions due to the West Asia conflict.
