The hike comes amid soaring global crude oil prices and growing pressure on oil companies due to tensions in West Asia. In Delhi, petrol is now being sold at around ₹97.77 per litre, while diesel has crossed ₹90 per litre. Major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai are also witnessing sharp increases, raising concerns about inflation, transportation costs, and the impact on daily life.
