अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप चीनी नेता के प्रति सम्मान जता रहे थे, वहीं शी जिनपिंग ने गुरुवार को ताइवान पर अमेरिका को चेतावनी दे डाली। ट्रंप ने चीनी नेता को “महान” बताया और “शानदार भविष्य” की कामना की, लेकिन शी जिनपिंग ने इसके बिल्कुल उलट चेतावनी दी कि अगर अमेरिका चीन की शर्तों को नहीं मानता है तो उसे युद्ध का सामना करना पड़ सकता है। उन्होंने ताइवान को अमेरिका-चीन संबंधों का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दा भी बताया। चीन की इस चेतावनी को भारत के लिए भी खतरे की घंटी बताया जा रहा है। भारत के संबंध ताइवान के साथ दिन-प्रतिदिन मजबूत हो रहे हैं।
While U.S. President Donald Trump was expressing respect for the Chinese leader, Xi Jinping issued a warning to the United States regarding Taiwan on Thursday. Trump described the Chinese leader as “great” and wished him a “brilliant future”; however, Xi Jinping issued a starkly contrasting warning, stating that if the U.S. does not accept China’s terms, it could face war. He also identified Taiwan as the most critical issue in U.S.-China relations. This warning from China is being viewed as a wake-up call for India as well, given that India’s relations with Taiwan are strengthening day by day.
