A viral video claiming that the sea water at Surat’s Dumas Beach suddenly receded before a possible tsunami created panic across social media. The video was widely shared on Instagram and YouTube, with dramatic claims warning people to stay away from the beach. However, police investigation revealed that the phenomenon was completely natural and linked to tidal changes, not a tsunami warning. Surat Police has now registered an FIR against a Rajasthan-based YouTuber for allegedly spreading misinformation to gain views and followers. Authorities are also tracking multiple social media accounts that shared the misleading content without verification.
