चुनाव आयोग ने पश्चिम बंगाल की फलता विधानसभा सीट पर वोटिंग रद्द कर दी है… यहां पर 29 अप्रैल को दूसरे फेज की वोटिंग के दौरान EVM में गड़बड़ी और हिंसा की खबरें आईं थीं… जिसके बाद चुनाव आयोग ने फलता विधानसभा के सभी 285 बूथों पर दोबारा वोटिंग कराने का आदेश दिया है… अब फलता में 21 मई को सुबह 7 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक दोबारा वोटिंग होगी… जबकि नतीजे 24 मई को जारी होंगे…वहीं शनिवार को फलता के हाशिमनगर इलाके में वोटिंग में गड़बड़ी को लेकर जबरदस्त हंगामा हुआ… लोगों ने आरोप लगाया कि 29 अप्रैल को टीएमसी की कार्यकर्ताओं ने उन्हें वोट करने नहीं दिया गया… ग्राम प्रधान और उसके गुर्गों ने महिलाओं को धमकाया… और रेप करने की धमकी दी… इतना ही नहीं घर के बच्चों को जान से मारने की धमकी दी…. जिसके बाद लोग पुलिस से शिकायत करने पहुंचे तो उलटे पुलिस ने ग्रामीणों पर ही लाठीचार्ज कर दिया.. जिससे नाराज लोगों ने रास्ता जाम कर दिया… घटना के बाद मौके पर भारी पुलिस फोर्स तैनात कर दी गई है… लेकिन हालात अभी भी तनावपूर्ण बने हुए हैं…
The Election Commission has cancelled the voting for the Falta Assembly seat in West Bengal. Reports of irregularities in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and violence had emerged from this constituency during the second phase of voting held on April 29. Consequently, the Election Commission has ordered a re-poll across all 285 booths of the Falta Assembly constituency. The re-polling in Falta will now take place on May 21, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while the results are scheduled to be declared on May 24. Meanwhile, on Saturday, a massive uproar erupted in the Hashimnagar area of Falta regarding irregularities in the voting process. Residents alleged that on April 29, Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers had prevented them from casting their votes. They further claimed that the *Gram Pradhan* (village head) and his henchmen had intimidated the women, going so far as to threaten them with rape. Moreover, threats were issued to kill the children in their households. When the villagers approached the police to lodge a complaint regarding these incidents, the police, instead of taking action, carried out a *lathi-charge* (baton charge) against the villagers themselves. Angered by this response, the residents blocked the roads in protest. Following the incident, a heavy police force has been deployed to the area; however, the situation remains tense.
