पश्चिम बंगाल में ईडी ने कथित एक्सटॉर्शन रैकेट की जांच में बड़ा एक्शन लेते हुए पूर्व डीसीपी शांतनु सिन्हा विश्वास समेत कई ठिकानों पर छापेमारी की. जांच एजेंसी ‘सोना पप्पू’ नेटवर्क, जमीन कब्जाने, जबरन वसूली और कारोबारी कनेक्शन की जांच कर रही है. इस दौरान कई व्हाट्सऐप चैट्स भी सामने आई हैं, जिन्हें अहम सबूत माना जा रहा है. कोलकाता, कस्बा और मुर्शिदाबाद में हुई इस कार्रवाई ने पुलिस और कारोबारी गठजोड़ पर नए सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं. ईडी अब पूरे नेटवर्क की परतें खोलने में जुटी है.
Taking significant action in its investigation into an alleged extortion racket in West Bengal, the ED conducted raids at multiple locations, including the premises of former DCP Shantanu Sinha Biswas. The investigative agency is probing the ‘Sona Pappu’ network, land grabbing, extortion, and associated business connections. During this process, several WhatsApp chats have surfaced, which are being regarded as crucial evidence. These operations—conducted across Kolkata, Kasba, and Murshidabad—have raised fresh questions regarding the alleged nexus between the police and the business community. The ED is now focused on unraveling the various layers of this entire network.
