A suspected suicide blast targeted the Jaffar Express passenger train near Chaman Phatak in Quetta, Pakistan, resulting in at least 30 confirmed deaths and 47 injuries. The explosion occurred near a railway track in a busy residential area, completely burning one train bogie and causing extensive damage to surrounding houses and vehicles. Emergency rescue teams and police have been deployed to the site. While no group has officially claimed responsibility, initial inputs suggest the involvement of the Balochistan Liberation Army. The separatist group has a history of targeting the Jaffar Express and railway infrastructure in the region to send a message to the Pakistani military and government regarding their actions in Balochistan. The passenger train, which travels from Peshawar, has previously faced hijackings, bombings, and derailments. Authorities fear the casualty count may rise as rescue operations continue in the affected area.
