In the case concerning the death of Twisha Sharma, her mother-in-law—retired Judge Giribala Singh—now appears to be clearly implicated. On one hand, the Madhya Pradesh government has given its consent to hand over the investigation of this case to the CBI. On the other, a demand has been made to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh. The arguments put forth by the MP government in support of cancelling the bail have rendered Giribala Singh’s role in this entire affair even more suspicious.
