On the other hand, Surjit Bhalla, who has worked in PM Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, says that the government’s focus is on winning elections while the condition of the economy is poor, and no attention is being paid to it. These economists have worked with the government and have consistently praised the government’s policies. The Madhya Pradesh government has recommended a CBI probe into the death of Twisha Sharma. For now, the High Court has directed to conduct a second post-mortem of Twisha. After the post-mortem report comes out, the court will decide to whom the body will be handed over. Twisha’s family has also demanded the immediate cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh.
Voting for 24 Rajya Sabha seats across 10 states will take place on June 18. Elections will be held for five seats in Gujarat, and four seats each in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Among the prominent leaders whose seats are falling vacant are Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
