Uttarakhand’s Deepak Kumar, also known as “Mohammad Deepak”, who came into the spotlight after standing up for an elderly Muslim shopkeeper during a communal confrontation, is now facing a severe financial crisis himself. Deepak says his gym is on the verge of shutting down after he failed to pay rent for four months. He has alleged that the building owner asked him to vacate because he supports Muslims. Earlier, many people had reportedly stopped coming to his gym after the viral incident, badly affecting his income. Though things had slowly started improving, Deepak now says he is struggling to save both his business and his home.
