The party high command suggested the current Deputy Chief Minister for the top post, a proposal that was unanimously accepted. The outgoing Chief Minister proposed the new leader, ensuring a smooth transition of power within the state. The newly elected leader is set to stake a claim with the Governor and will take the oath of office along with the new cabinet on the third of the month. The party stated it will return to power in the twenty twenty-eight state elections under this new arrangement.
