इधर चांदी का आयात भी अब सख़्त कर दिया गया है.. सरकार ने सिल्वर इंपोर्ट के नियमों में बदलाव कर दिया गया है.. इसे फ्री कैटेगरी से हटाकर रेस्ट्रिक्टेड कैटेगरी में डाल दिया है.. सीधे शब्दों में कहें तो चांदी का आयात करना है तो इसके लिए सरकार की मंजू़री लेनी पड़ेगी… इससे पहले 13 मई को सरकार ने सोने चांदी पर इंपोर्ट ड्यूटी बढ़ाई थी.. इसे 6 परसेंट से बढ़ाकर 15 परसेंट कर दिया था… और अब इंपोर्ट पर भी सख़्ती कर दी गई है.. दरअस्ल पिछले दिनों ख़ुद पीएम मोदी ने कहा था कि आने वाले एक साल तक सोना चांदी खरीदने से परहेज़ करें.. ताकि विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार पर असर ना पड़े.. क्योंकि सोना चांदी हम दूसरे देशों से आयात करते हैं… और इसके लिए डॉलर में पेमेंट करना पड़ता है… अब सरकार ने सिल्वर इंपोर्ट पर जो नए नियम लगाए हैं.. वो 99.9 परसेंट या उससे ज़्यादा शुद्ध सिल्वर बार…अनरिफ़ाइंड या सेमी प्रोसेस्ड सिल्वर पर लागू होंगे
Meanwhile, the import of silver has also been tightened. The government has amended the regulations governing silver imports, shifting the commodity from the ‘Free’ category to the ‘Restricted’ category. Simply put, anyone wishing to import silver will now require prior government approval. Prior to this, on May 13, the government had hiked the import duty on gold and silver, raising it from 6 percent to 15 percent. And now, further restrictions have been imposed on imports. In fact, Prime Minister Modi himself had recently urged citizens to refrain from purchasing gold and silver for the next year to avoid straining the country’s foreign exchange reserves, given that gold and silver are imported from other nations and require payment in US dollars. The new regulations imposed by the government on silver imports will apply to silver bars with a purity level of 99.9 percent or higher, as well as to unrefined or semi-processed silver.
