Friends, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose used to say that the foundation of our country’s security must be so strong that history never sees anyone snatching away our freedom again. Netaji believed that a strong military paves the way for a nation’s security and progress. Building upon these very ideals of Netaji, the Indian defense agency DRDO has achieved another milestone today. DRDO has successfully tested two missiles. These two missiles were tested on a total of three occasions. The first missile is an interceptor. An interceptor is a missile designed to destroy an enemy missile while it is still in the air. A notable feature is that the capability of the tested interceptor missile is not limited to the lower atmosphere; it can ascend to the upper reaches of the atmosphere to destroy an enemy missile. In other words, this Indian interceptor missile can destroy an enemy ICBM while it is still in flight. You have likely heard the term ICBM many times and read about it in newspapers.
मित्रों नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस कहते थे हमारे देश की सुरक्षा की बुनियाद इतनी मजबूत होनी चाहिए कि इतिहास में दोबारा कोई हमसे हमारी आजादी ना छीन पाए। नेताजी का मानना था कि मजबूत सेना ही राष्ट्र की सुरक्षा और प्रगति का पथ प्रशस्त करती है। नेताजी के इन्हीं विचारों पर आगे बढ़ते हुए आज भारतीय डिफेंस एजेंसी डीआरडीओ ने एक और मील का पत्थर हासिल कर लिया। डीआरडीओ ने दो मिसाइल्स का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण कर लिया है। इन दोनों मिसाइल्स का कुल तीन मौकों पर परीक्षण किया गया। पहली मिसाइल एक इंटरसेप्टर है। इंटरसेप्टर उस मिसाइल को कहते हैं जो शत्रु की मिसाइल को हवा में ही ध्वस्त कर देती है। खास बात यह है कि जिस इंटरसेप्टर मिसाइल का परीक्षण किया गया उसकी क्षमता सिर्फ आसमान तक सीमित नहीं है। यह मिसाइल वायुमंडल के ऊपरी हिस्सों में जाकर भी दुश्मन की मिसाइल को ध्वस्त कर सकती है। यानी दुश्मन की आईसीबीएम को भारत की ये इंटरसेप्टर मिसाइल उसकी उड़ान के दौरान ही नष्ट कर सकती है। आईसीबीएम यह शब्द आपने कई बार सुना होगा, अखबारों में पढ़ा भी होगा।
