Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a major infrastructure initiative aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Mumbai.
Speaking about the project, Fadnavis said that nearly 60% of Mumbai’s traffic currently relies on the Western Express Highway, and the government is working to reduce that burden by creating a signal-free road corridor from Nariman Point to Bhayandar.
The Chief Minister stated that the ambitious project is expected to significantly improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and provide long-term traffic relief for commuters. According to the proposed timeline, the entire project is targeted for completion by October-November or December 2028.
