Massive protests continue to intensify in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) as over 1.5 lakh people reportedly take to the streets across Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Kotli, Mirpur, Dadyal and other regions. Demonstrators associated with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) are demanding political rights, economic reforms and an end to what they call state repression. Following deadly clashes on June 7-8, tensions have escalated further, with authorities imposing restrictions, blocking roads and launching a crackdown against JAAC leaders. Human rights organizations have raised concerns over alleged excessive use of force, arrests, internet shutdowns and civilian casualties. International attention is growing as activists, lawmakers and rights groups call for an independent investigation into the situation unfolding in POJK.
