Bloomberg reported that India has effectively frozen approvals for Elon Musk’s space-based internet service, Starlink, to begin commercial operations. This decision is reportedly due to concerns over the possible use of its satellite terminals in the Iran war, according to people familiar with the matter. However, Starlink has denied these claims, calling the Bloomberg report “misleading,” and said that it is in “active and productive discussions” with the Indian government regarding its planned launch in the country.

Also covered: The US has launched multiple waves of strikes on Iran in response to a military helicopter crash in the Strait of Hormuz, which Donald Trump claimed was shot down by Iran. Soon after, Iran carried out retaliatory attacks against the US, American bases in the region and the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain were targeted with drones. Also, Afghanistan on Wednesday accused Pakistan of carrying out fresh airstrikes on its territory, stating that the attacks killed at least 13 people, most of them children, and injured 14 others.
