Fresh protests have erupted across Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), with thousands joining a rally organized by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). The group has accused Pakistani forces of opening fire on protesters and appealed to India for humanitarian assistance, alleging an economic blockade and worsening shortages of food and medicines. As tensions rise ahead of the July 27 PoJK Assembly elections, the unrest is emerging as one of the biggest political challenges to Islamabad’s control over the region.
