Alongside the weather crisis, an investigation into maternal deaths in Kota, Rajasthan, revealed that a government-supplied labor-inducing drug, dinoprostone gel, failed quality tests with 50 percent active ingredient. Additionally, Mumbai’s K. Rustom ice cream parlour was closed over hygiene violations, and Dr. Govind Nandkumar of Manipal Hospital cautioned against the consumption of probiotic supplements for gut health.
