मानसून का ITCZ (इंटर-ट्रॉपिकल कन्वर्जेंस ज़ोन / अंतः उष्णकटिबंधीय अभिसरण क्षेत्र) के साथ गहरा संबंध है। यह भूमध्य रेखा के पास का एक निम्न वायुदाब (low-pressure) क्षेत्र है जहाँ दोनों गोलार्धों की व्यापारिक पवनें (Trade winds) आकर मिलती हैं।
The monsoon is closely linked to the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone). This is a low-pressure region near the equator where trade winds from both hemispheres converge.
