The conflict between Iran and the United States has now spilled over into Egypt. The Egyptian government said on Thursday that the fire which broke out aboard two gas tankers at Damietta Port on Wednesday was not an accident but the result of a drone attack. Reports say the drone targeted the U.S.-owned natural gas storage tanker Energos Winter. The blaze subsequently spread to a nearby tanker, GasLog Salem. Initial assessments have pointed to Iranian involvement in the attack.

Meanwhile, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said an object that crashed into a field in eastern Poland in the early hours of Thursday was probably a Russian missile.
