Activist Tehseen Poonawalla has claimed that he was placed under house arrest by the Delhi Police ahead of his planned solo march to Gandhi Smriti and a hunger strike against the government’s E20 petrol policy. Sharing videos of police personnel outside his home, Poonawalla questioned his detention without written orders, while authorities cited law and order concerns after denying permission for his earlier ‘Gaadi March’ to Parliament. Along with alleging that his Instagram account was suspended due to his ongoing crusade against Ethanol-blended fuel, he urged Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to offer fuel choices to protect vehicle engines and consumer interests, even as the government maintains that ethanol blending reduces crude imports and supports farmers.
