Bihar Police has arrested a fake IPS officer, Manish Gupta alias Chikku, in Khagaria after uncovering a massive decade-long fraud operation where he posed as a high-ranking officer and an undercover agent working for National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. During an extensive seven-and-a-half-hour raid on his lavish residence, authorities seized high-value assets including a Tesla Model Y, a Tata Safari—both illegally bearing ‘Government of India’ plates—five iPhones, 20 credit cards, four chequebooks, 31 liters of imported foreign liquor, and two swamp deer (Barasingha) horns. According to Khagaria SP Bhanu Pratap Singh, the accused used his fake identity to intimidate citizens, extort money, and amass illicit properties across multiple states and abroad, triggering a broader investigation into his network and administrative oversights.
