Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran sparked controversy with a personal remark targeting Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. Referring to Vijay’s earlier “kutti kathai” in the Assembly, Nagenthran said that if someone wanted to know where their father was, they should ask their mother at home instead of looking for an answer in the Assembly. The remark drew criticism from Tamil Nadu minister A Rajmohan, who called it inappropriate. BJP leader and former state president K Annamalai also criticised the statement, saying political disagreements are part of democracy but personal remarks about a leader’s family, especially their mother, cross the limits of political decency.
