An official Nepalese government document accessed by India Today confirms that 133 Indian tourists are missing following flash floods in Nepal, making India the most affected country on the list. According to DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran, 50 of the missing tourists are from Tamil Nadu, prompting calls for immediate intervention by the Ministry of External Affairs. Rescue missions have been initiated, with the Nepalese Army deploying half a dozen aircraft, while India is sending a C-130J transport aircraft with a C-17 jet on standby. The Ministry of External Affairs has released helpline numbers for the Indian Mission in Kathmandu. The missing tourists were in the Rasuwa border region, a popular hub for Kailash-Mansarovar pilgrims, trekking, and mountaineering. Authorities note that network disruptions in the area have severely hindered communication.
