Nepal Floods: Kathmandu has declined search-and-rescue assistance offered by India, China, the US, UK and other countries, saying its own security forces can handle the operation. The decision is linked to lessons from the 2015 earthquake, when managing multiple foreign rescue teams created logistical challenges. Nepal is accepting relief supplies and financial aid while keeping rescue operations under its own command.
