मित्रों जब प्रकृति का संतुलन बिगड़ता है तो इंसान की पूरी जिंदगी मुश्किल में पड़ जाती है। लेकिन प्रकृति के कुछ संतुलन ऐसे हैं जिसके बिगड़ने का असर आने वाले समय में कहीं ज्यादा खतरनाक हो सकता है। हम और आप इस वक्त धरती के छठे महाविनाश के भयानक दौर से गुजर रहे हैं। बिना किसी शोर के हर बीतते दिन के साथ रोज लगभग 150 बेजुबान प्रजातियां इस दुनिया से हमेशा हमेशा के लिए विलुप्त हो रही है। बहुत ध्यान से इस खबर को देखिएगा। और इन्हीं में से एक गिद्ध भी है। लेकिन अच्छी खबर यह है कि विलुप्त होते गिद्धों को बचाने की जंग में अब मध्य प्रदेश इस समय पूरे देश के लिए उम्मीद की सबसे बड़ी किरण बनकर उभरा है। मध्य प्रदेश में गिद्धों की सात प्रजाति पाई जाती है। जिनमें चार स्थानीय हैं और तीन बाहरी हैं। मध्य प्रदेश गिद्धों के संरक्षण में देश में नंबर एक पर पहुंच गया है। भोपाल के केरवा गिद्ध संरक्षण और प्रजनन केंद्र से पहली बार छह गिद्धों को खुले आसमान और प्राकृतिक वातावरण में आजाद किया गया। गिद्धों पर जीपीएस ट्रैकर लगाए गए हैं। जिससे उनके आवागमन, व्यवहार और सुरक्षा की सतत निगरानी सुनिश्चित की जा सके।

GPS trackers have been fitted on the vultures to ensure continuous monitoring of their movements, behavior, and safety.
