The alleged assault on Sanjay Kumar during a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar has sparked a political controversy in Delhi. CJP leaders reached Parliament Street Police Station demanding the arrest of accused Swatantrya Bhardwaj and stricter charges in the case. CJP alleges that Sanjay Kumar suffered serious head injuries. Delhi Police, however, says the medical report described the injury as simple and found no evidence of a skull fracture. The controversy grew after a viral podcast video in which Bhardwaj allegedly spoke about the incident and claimed he had assaulted Sanjay Kumar. Police say the investigation is underway and further legal action will follow.
