A student has been slapped with a fine of ₹5 lakh for participating in a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Akshat Tripathi, a student at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida, received a notice from the Executive Magistrate accusing him of disturbing the peace. Tripathi is also a member of the Uttar Pradesh state committee of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI).
